Hockey Canada Skills Academy: 2015-16
Recent News
It is with a "heavy heart" that I am saying goodbye to Tilley and the Hockey Academy. I've thoroughly enjoyed my two years as the director of the program. I will miss the determination and perseverance I witnessed during dry-land, the fun we had learning new skills in other sports, dressing room banter (and hearing the girls sing songs in the adjacent room), our partnership with the Bandits, Lesley Burton, and all the wonderful student-athletes that were a part of this program. Sport has a unique ability in the development of our children. Done properly, it enhances their confidence, builds leadership and teamwork, develops healthy life skills and attitudes, and provides them with the opportunity for continual improvement and the skills to overcome adversity. The growth of this program is encouraging and I know that it is in good hands with Lesley Burton (president and instructor), Sean Yeaman (vice-president), and the support of the Tilley School staff. I am excited for the incoming teacher/director who has a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with our students. I look forward to hearing about their future academic and athletic achievements. Thank you for everything, Adam Craig “Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It’s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing. (Muhammed Ali)” The Tilley Hockey Academy would like to thank Scott Good and the rest of the Badlands Longhorns Hockey Organization for their donation towards furthering player development in the region. A "Longhorns" scholarship will be awarded to a local hockey player for the next three years.
